The Restaurant

La Taberna del Piano is really a restaurant cum carvery since it is a taberna “tavern” in name only.

It was founded by the present owner José María Moirón González on August 6th 1990. It is renowned for the views of the San Lorenzo bay both from the dining room on the first floor and from ground floor bar. It is located on the seafront of San Lorenzo beach, 12 Cabrales Street. There is a car park 50 metres away.

The dining room, on the first floor, is air conditioned and can seat seventy people. The ground floor bar can seat thirty people and also has an ample bar service.

The staff is not only well qualified but also efficient, friendly and helpful.

The decoration is mainly stonework surrounded by matching tones.

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxing, and it is typical to drink red wine or cava (champagne) from “porrones” together with a special house pincho “bollitos preñaos”. The “pincho” is a free snack and the “bollito preñao” is a small bread roll with a “chorizo” centre.

The kitchen is run by María Teresa Sanz, the owner’s wife, who prepares all the typical Asturian dishes, a daily menu and two outstanding specialities which are prepared to order:

Castilla young lamb and suckling pig.
